A charity which helps abandoned cats and kittens is celebrating 30 years since its volunteer-run branch was founded, with a party and a fundraising challenge.

Pam McNicol, co-ordinator of Peterborough Cats Protection, said: “As part of our 30th birthday celebrations we’re inviting the public to join in and take part in our Challenge 30 fundraising appeal.”

Ideas include: saving 30 coins, hold a coffee morning and aim to raise £30; sell 30 cakes to your friends; be sponsored to lose 30 lbs, go 30 days alcohol or chocolate free or xercise for 30 minutes a day for 30 days

An afternoon celebration event will also be held between 1pm and 4pm on May 30 at The Loxley Centre in Werrington.
