Peterborough vicars are urging residents to remember the Christmas Story over the festive period.
Fast, funny radio ads, featuring the Nativity story as a football match and horse race, will air on Heart Radio during December as part of a “Christmas Starts With Christ” campaign.
There will also be banners and posters across Peterborough encouraging residents to visit their local church over Christmas.
Campaign organiser Steven Pettican said: “With 51 per cent of people saying Jesus isn’t relevant to Christmas, Peterborough churches reckon it’s time for a change.
“ We want to remind people of the original Christmas and best Christmas present - the one that doesn’t ruin your credit card balance, but could still change your life.”
A website has also been set up, which includes information about the campaign, including about carol services and other events.
