Thompson Service Centre celebrates receiving top service award honour

Peterborough-based Thompson Service Centre is celebrating after receiving the prestigious Bosch service award in recognition of its superior quality performance.

Peterborough-based Thompson Service Centre is celebrating after receiving the prestigious Bosch service award in recognition of its superior quality performance. The firm achieved a perfect score in its recent, independently conducted assessment of the garage's quality control systems and customer handling practices. Participation in this rigorous assessment is one of the many mandatory measures required of the garage as part of its membership of the Bosch Car Service programme.

Business owner Nick Thompson said: "The award gives customers complete confidence that their vehicle will be attended to by a garage that has demonstrated excellence in both technical and customer service disciplines. Thompson Service Centre, like all Bosch Car Service garages, also adheres to a code of conduct which provides consumers with a level of care above that required by law. This code is also fully approved by the Office of Fair Trading (OFT)."

Technical services manager at Bosch Howard Price said: "I am delighted that Thompson Service Centre has achieved the highest possible rating in their recent quality audit and quality to receive a Bosch Quality Audit certificate.

"Our assessment process is very thorough and is aimed at ensuring that people who take their vehicle to Thompson Service Centre will receive a high quality of service at an affordable cost. The OFT approval of our Consumer Code of Practice further demonstrates the commitment of Thompson Service Centre to providing its customers with the highest level of care and transparency."

Mr Thompson also wanted to thank all the firm's customers over the last few years for their support.

The firm moved to its premises, in Coronation Garage, Stanground, two years ago and has worked hard to bring the facilities up to standard and up to date.

Refurbishing the new premises, upgrading computer systems, investing in new diagnostic equipment and fitting brand new ramps allowed it to continue to offer the same great service as before.

"With the Bosch Car Service name and standard in mind, we set about trying to make sure all was in place to provide the right service to our customers and please the Office of Fair Trading," said Mr Thompson.

"We have also vigorously improved the knowledge of all our staff – from our receptionists through to the quality control officers – to build on what we can offer our customers in the way of services and improving their experience when they deal with Thompson Service Centre.

"For example, we can currently offer prices as much as 30 per cent lower than main dealer rates; we aim to maintain this level so that our customers are getting the best possible prices without having to worry about the quality of the service provided.

"Our new premises also has an MOT bay, adding further to the services we offer to our customers. As part of a special promotion, we are offering MOT testing for 25 per cent less than the Ministry of Transport's recommended price."
