Britain’s Got Talent star Paul Potts will be performing live on Peterborough-based Ideal World TV.

The event will take place on December 5 at the Ideal World studios, in Newark Road.

The singer, who shot to fame when he won the first series of ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent in 2007, will perform for Ideal World at 8pm.

Andrew Gabriel, managing director of Ideal World TV, said: “We are delighted to be hosting this performance.

“Paul Potts is such an inspirational story and is loved the world over.

Mr Gabriel added: “He really is a great talent and we hope viewers enjoy this early Christmas treat.

“Having an affect on the official chart is a first in Ideal World’s history and we feel that viewers will be in for a great performance.”

Paul Potts said: “I’m so excited to be the first live act to perform on Ideal World TV.

He added: “Singing on a shopping channel is such a modern way to showcase my music to fans.

“I hope everyone enjoys the show.”

Paul Potts is a singer of operatic music. His debut album topped the charts in nine countries.

He is currently in the middle of a global tour to promote his new album, called Home.

There will be about 1,200 signed copies of the album Home available for purchase at £9.99.
