Farmers with the English Mustard Growers held a celebratory lunch at The George, in Stamford, to mark 200 years of the Colman’s Mustard company.

Chairman of the mustard-growing farmer group, English Mustard Growers, Thorney farmer Michael Sly, said: “We are very proud to produce mustard for Colman’s and very proud to be celebrating this landmark.

“The relationship we have with Colman’s has gone from strength to strength since English Mustard Growers was formed in 2009.

There are 18 of us, and we produce around 1,300 tonnes of mustard seed each year for its Norwich factory.”

Mr Sly added: “As the company’s commitment to sourcing its raw materials sustainably means we are part of a global family of suppliers all striving to reduce our impact on the environment.”

Farmers from Lincolnshire, Cambridgeshire and Norfolk attended.
