A famous artist has included a Peterborough salon in his latest piece.

Sir Peter Blake became famous for his album design on The Beatles’ Grammy Award-winning album ‘Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.’

His latest piece features co-owner of Melanie Richard’s Hair Boutique, Richard McDonald, pictured at the back of the artwork in a white shirt and holding a purple hair dryer.

The artwork, which was commissioned by American Express and entitled ‘High Street Heroes’, celebrates the nation’s independent shopkeepers in the run up to Small Business Saturday on December 6.
