Golden tickets offering free TVs and computers will be handed out to the first customers to the new Aldi store in Peterborough tomorrow.

Prizes including a 42” HD LED TV, 10” Tablet PCs and 24” TVs will be handed out to the first 100 customers in the queue on the opening day.

Aldi is opening its third store in Peterborough in Brickburn Close in Hampton on Thursday, September 24 at 8am, following a six month development.

There will also be free bacon and sausage sandwiches available for customers throughout the morning, and Aldi will be sampling a range of products throughout the day.

The opening of the store will create 50 new jobs for the local community.

Aldi is currently recruiting for store managers, assistant store managers, deputy store managers, store assistants and stock assistants in the area and more information on all roles at Aldi and how to apply can be found online at www.aldirecruitment.co.uk.

As part of Aldi’s engagement with the local community, the brand new store will be supporting a number of groups, including the Hampton Community Sport Association who will be presented with a donation at the store opening to help continue its valued work within the community.

The store will also provide Hampton Tiddlers with a product donation, providing the parent and toddler group with a selection of the supermarket’s products.

In conjunction with the opening, local primary school children have taken part in a poster competition. The winning school will receive a monetary prize, with the winning child receiving an exciting prize from Aldi and their poster displayed in the store window during opening week.

Aldi’s Hampton store will be served by 110 car parking spaces and will feature around 1,500 product lines.

Aldi’s opening week ‘Specialbuys’ include a: 42” Full HD LED TVs (was £229.99, now £129.99), 10.1” tablet PCs (was £149.99, now £99.99) and Steam Mops (was £22.99, now £14.99).

Aldi store manager Dan Goodson said: “We are really looking forward to the opening of our latest store in Peterborough and we’re sure the local community will enjoy our grand opening celebrations with 100 golden tickets up for grabs.

“We expect to see plenty of shoppers on Thursday to take advantage of our opening week offers, in addition to our range of products at everyday low prices.”

Following its launch, the store on Brickburn Close, Hampton Centre, Peterborough, PE7 8NZ will be open:

Monday – Saturday: 8am-10pm

Sunday: 10am–4pm
