Shoppers in Peterborough are being given more choice thanks to new and refurbished stores opening in Queensgate.

The centre recently saw the launch of the newly refurbished Marks & Spencer Food Hall in Queensgate Shopping Centre as the Mayor of Peterborough, Councillor John Peach and the Mayoress, Janet Martin, declared the store officially open, marking the first phase of its full refurbishment plans.

Emma Burrell, Store Manager said: “We are delighted to finally open the doors to our new Foodhall and welcome visitors from all over Peterborough. Our new offering features hundreds of M&S product ranges, so it’s perfect for weekday shopping or a Christmas treat!”

Further to the already impressive offering of jewellers at the centre, luxury jeweller Fraser Hart has also opened a new branch.

The substantially sized location is the new flagship store for the brand; it has seen significant investment to create a new look for the chain. One of the key features is the all new dedicated Diamond Lounge, a new concept with a private viewing area and personalised, individual service from highly trained professionals.

Fraser Hart Manager, Ian Bell, said: “The new store looks stunning – the Diamond Lounge allows us to give our customers a tailored, personal experience as they shop with us. It is also particularly exciting for us to bring the Rolex brand back to Queensgate after an extended absence – I have been getting such positive feedback from customers; everyone is thrilled to have it available in the centre again.”

New to the Westgate Arcade is independent retailer Trinité Village, which celebrated its official launch on Friday 4 December. Based around a core philosophy of cruelty free, affordable luxury, the store sells vegan and vegetarian soaps, bath bombs, candles and gifts.

Kate Brittain, Store Owner, said: “Trinité Village has been in the making for quite a while now and is a very exciting new venture for my partner Nick and myself. We are hoping to continue expanding our range so we can bring a wide variety of vegetarian and vegan products together, all under one roof.

“Our beautiful husky puppies are our shop mascots and are always in store for cuddles. We’re as new to Peterborough as our shop, so do pop in and say hello, have a browse around (smell every candle and bath bomb you can find!) and enjoy meeting the puppies.”

The Fragrance Shop is also opening soon in the centre.

Mark Broadhead commented: “This is an exciting time for the centre, with so much going on as we head into the new year. The additional stores, along with the fantastic refurbishment of the Westgate Arcade and the upcoming development of the centre, mean that Queensgate has gone from strength to strength this year, and will continue to grow and improve for years to come.”
