New appointment to Peterborough commercial agents' farming team

A Peterborough based commercial agents has just appointed a new farm business consultant.

Charles Skelton has joined the Savills Midlands rural department as an associate director and will lead the food and farming teams in Peterborough and Nottingham.

Mr Skelton, who lives in Melton Mowbray, said: “I am looking forward to the challenge of working with the team to further build on food and farming across the region.

“My appointment comes at a time of change and pressure for the farming industry, particularly within the dairy sector which will increase the need for consultancy advice.”

Alastair Johnston, head of Food and Farming in the Midlands, said: “Charles joins us at a crucial time. Farmers and landowners increasingly need strategic advice about their business and Charles is an excellent addition to our team with a proven track record.

“His role will further strengthen our offer across the East Midlands, complementing the existing food and farming team based in Lincoln and providing the scope for us to grow into Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and north Cambridgeshire.”

Mr Skelton has more than 11 years experience in farm business consultancy, specifically focusing on technical and financial performance; business banking relationships; family succession; staff recruitment and retention as well as farm bureaucracy and legislation.
