Scores of jobs are being created by a rapidly growing Peterborough company that after two years is already one of the leaders in its sector.

Tenant referencing company The Landlord Hub, based in Commerce Road, Lynch Wood, has just taken its staff numbers up to 74 with the recruitment of 12 employees.

We are growing rapidly and plan to do the same again next year.

Chief executive Heidi Shackell says she plans to take on 25 more people early next year with the total number of staff rising to 125 by the end of 2016.

It is part of an impressive drive for growth that has seen the company surge to number two in its sector in the wake of its acquisition by LetRisks with turnover rising to more than £5 million.

The company operates from 8.30am to 8.30pm and has taken over an adjoining unit with a £50,000 investment in fittings and equipment.

Mrs Shackell, who won the Young Entrepreneur and the Customer Service award at the Peterborough Telegraph business awards last month, said: “We are growing rapidly and plan to do the same again next year.

“We are gaining new customers every month and on average we are helping 20,000 people a month to move home. We are really proud - our customers are happy, they keep coming back and tell others about us as well.”

It is a highly creditable record for a firm with its origins in a pub chat between Mrs Shackell and 18 landlords just over three years ago.

She said: “I invited them to the Toby Norris pub in Stamford, bought the pizzas, beer and wine and listened to them and created the proposition for the company from there.”

“No other company has listened to what it is landlords want.”
