The first guests in store were Oliver Cullen, 16, and Samuel Coward, 17, both from Hampton Hargate, who waited from 2pm on the previous afternoon to ensure they were the first to taste the delicious doughnuts on offer in store. Oliver and Samuel were both rewarded with a coveted Krispy Kreme Gold Card, entitling them to a complimentary double dozen every month for a year!

Callum said, “I am so happy I waited in line and managed to get my hands on a Gold Card, I can’t wait to share my dozens with family and friends!”

The first Drive Thru guest was also rewarded the coveted Krispy Kreme Gold card.

What’s more, the first dozen in each line were treated to an exclusive goody bag and to celebrate Krispy Kreme’s 79th birthday, the first 79 in line were given a specially made birthday doughnut!

Bizarrely, Oliver and Samuel could have picked up the same doughnuts without waiting for 18 hours by popping across to Serpentine Green where they are also stocked, but they would have missed out on those Gold Cards.

Judith Denby, Chief Marketing Officer at Krispy Kreme, said: “We’re really excited to have opened our new Hotlight store in Peterborough and the time and effort has really paid off. We hope everyone enjoys it as much as we do, especially those who received one of our special birthday doughnuts!”
