A former farmer has launched a new venture that will provide professional lawn care to homes and businesses across Peterborough.

Daniel Maxey (44) has chosen to invest in the TruGreen Professional LawnCare franchise as he achieves his goal of running his own business.

The move comes after an extensive career in growing crops, soft fruit and flowers commercially on his family’s farm.

He said: “I enjoy working outdoors but I wanted to build a business for myself and provide a service locally.

“TruGreen is the perfect opportunity to do that and I’m excited about the future for my business.

“I have big plans and I’m looking forward to being able to employ local staff as the business grows.”

His business will serve customers across Peterborough, Yaxley, Wansford, Oundle, Huntingdon and March.

It will provide an extensive range of professional lawn care services, including accredited pest control applications, to help customers achieve a beautiful, healthy lawn.

Steve Welch, brand operations manager for TruGreen UK, said: “Daniel’s experience and history in growing sets him apart from other local lawn care providers.

“His knowledge, coupled with his passion for customer service will stand him in good stead when it comes to growing a successful business.”

Founded in 1973, TruGreen serves more than 3.5 million customers each year across the world and in the UK, and is a franchise of ServiceMaster, which has been in franchising for nearly 60 years.
