A new food board has been created to drive the growth of the agricultural industry across the Peterborough area.

The venture is to be officially launched by Farming Minister George Eustice MP at Holbeach and the new body will champion the area’s food producers.

The Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership has created the Food Board made up of senior figures from food and farming.

Mr Eustice will also unveil the partnership’s Agri-Food Plan to help double the economic value of the food industry in Greater Lincolnshire by 2030.

Mark Tinsley, a member of the LEP board, said: “Greater Lincolnshire is the food heartland of the UK but the agri-food sector is often overlooked when it comes to prioritising support for business.”
