Lettings agent Belvoir is to look at changes to the private rented sector at a seminar for landlords at the Deafblind UK centre, Hampton, on Wednesday. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to attend.
The evening will feature a presentation from Belvoir’s senior staff and three guest speakers.
The Buy to Let Team at Belvoir is hosting the event in response to forthcoming changes such as the restriction of tax relief and higher stamp duty on buy to let purchases may diminish the profits of smaller landlords.
Terry Lucking, owner of Belvoir Peterborough & Cambridge, said: “Change is inevitable in a booming property market and it is important to remain responsive.
“The recent budget announcements are a cause for concern for landlords but as this seminar will demonstrate, property is still a viable investment option; the key is to plan ahead and seek expert advice from professionals.”
The first guest speaker will be Terence Ogden, from The OneE Group, one of the UK’s leading tax advisory firms.
He will discuss forthcoming financial changes including the new “Renewals Allowance”, changes to inheritance tax and the tax relief reductions. Belvoir will also be joined by Emma Watson and Julie Isaac from Buckles Solicitors in Peterborough.
They will provide a legislative update to clarify new laws that landlords need to understand, covering the Deregulation Bill, changes to tenancy deposits and the Immigration Act.
Emma Falco, manager of Belvoir Peterborough & Cambridge said: “To be a responsible landlord it is essential to stay up to date with legislative and financial changes relating to property.
“This upcoming seminar will be invaluable for landlords because we are addressing the issues at the forefront of the private rented sector.”
If you are interested in attending the seminar on December 9 should email email@example.com or call the Belvoir business development team directly on 01733 321500.
