But they are hoping to get more families and individuals to take part in the event on June 7.

Last year the 150 participants raised in excess of £18,000.

One of the organisers, John Burcham said: “This is a wonderful opportunity for parents to join their children for a family fund-raising initiative or for companies to use it as a team-building exercise.

“Last year, numerous companies put in teams of people and they had a great time.

He said: “This is not a race – it is very much a fun, social occasion that brings everyone together behind one great cause.”

“There is also a strong sense of achievement when participants complete the 17-mile circuit.”

The event is sponsored by Buckles Solicitors.

Participants pay to take part in the ride and are encouraged to get sponsorship to help swell the charity’s coffers. There are free goodie bags and a hog roast afterwards.

Entry fees are £10 per adult and £5 for children or £25 for a family. All funds raised will be spent locally.
