Hundreds of youngsters got up close with porcupines, meerkats, skunks and snakes at a shopping centre in Peterborough.
Animal expert Stephen Rowlands created some animal magic with his lizards, pygmy hedgehog, owls and macaws at Serpentine Green Shopping Centre in Hampton when he visited on Thursday.
Children even had the chance to hold and stroke some of the animals while Stephen introduced each of the animals one by one so they could find out more about them.
Chantelle Watson, deputy manager of Serpentine Green, said: “It has been a brilliant day.
“Everyone has enjoyed getting the opportunity to see the animals and learn more about them. We’ve had great feedback about the event from shoppers.”
Shopper Steven Byrne commenting on Serpentine Green’s Facebook page added: “Really good event, children loved the meerkats.”
The event was one of a programme of free events run at the centre to entertain children in the summer holidays.
The next event is Little Red Robin Hood puppet show being performed at shopping centre on Tuesday, August 7 at 11.30am and 2pm.
Youngsters are invited to come in fancy dress to be in with a chance to win a prize.
