A WARD has been closed to new admissions at Stamford Hospital over the weekend after two members of staff complained vomiting and diarrhoea.
The staff working on John Van Geest Ward became ill on Thursday night after some patients complained of similar symptoms earlier in the week.

The ward was shut as a precautionary measure, and hospital bosses said the situation would be reviewed again today.

Director of nursing at Peterborough and Stamford Hospitals Trust Chris Wilkinson said: “Two more members of staff developed symptoms overnight on Thursday, which means that the ward was closed to new admissions during the weekend.

“We cannot begin specially cleaning a ward until it has been symptom-free for 48 hours.”
