MORE than 100 servicemen received medals for a tour of Afghanistan in a moving ceremony.
Group Captain Station Commander Paul Higgins said in a speech: "It is an outstanding vital job you do and the reception in Stamford shows the strength of feeling for the men and women of the services. It is the reception that these young people deserve."

And Wing Commander Mike Elliott urged everyone to take a minute to remember Gary Thompson and Graham Livingstone, who were killed by a
roadside bomb in April.

He said: "Take a few minutes to remember Tommo and Living and the time they have spent with us, the legacy they have left.

"Enjoy this time of your life and remember every day that life is a gift and never a right."

A memorial service at Peterborough Cathedral is planned for the two RAF Wittering servicemen who died in action

Hundreds of people are expected to pack the building on November 25 to pay tribute to SAC Livingston (23) and SAC Thompson (51).
