HAIR was pulled out, nails were bitten and butterflies were most definitely in stomachs.
The Champions League final ended up being the tight showdown many pundits had predicted before last night's clash.
The Brewery Tap in Peterborough city centre showed the game on its big screen and fans of both teams flooded in to watch the match live from Moscow.
Manchester fans went wild after Cristiano Ronaldo headed in the opener on 26 minutes, but it was their blue counterparts who had reason to celebrate when Frank Lampard took advantage of a lucky bounce to fire them equal just before halftime.
The tense second half drained everyone's nerves before the agony of extra time was followed by the penalty shootout. Goalscorer Ronaldo failed to convert his spot kick as did Chelsea captain John Terry, and United snatched the win with a save by 'keeper Edwin Van Der Sar from Nicolas Anelka's penalty.
While for some fans it was reason to celebrate, many Chelsea fans finished their drinks and headed home.
