A GROUP of budding film-makers have been shortlisted for a top film award.
Teenagers at Oundle School have submitted a two-minute film highlighting the money wasted by those who don’t speak foreign languages.
The film, called The cost of languages, has been shortlisted in the Languages and Film Talent Awards (LAFTAs), which celebrates the linguistic talent of Britain’s budding film-makers, as part of a drive to inspire 13 to 21-year-olds to understand and promote the benefits of learning languages through film.
Director of communications at the National Centre for Languages Teresa Tinsley said: “We’ve seen some hugely creative videos showing that there really are hundreds of good reasons to learn a language at GCSE and beyond.”
The final winner is to be announced at a star-studded ceremony in London on September 25.
