UPDATE 3.15PM: Bomb disposal experts have carried out a number of controlled explosions at the scene.
Breaking news 2.20pm: Police have sealed off a busy Peterborough road after a suspicious package was spotted in a car.

A member of the public alerted the force at 12.40pm about the vehicle, which is parked in Eastfield Road opposite Riley's snooker club.

Police have blocked the road at its junctions with Prince's Gardens and Eastfield Grove, and at Newark Avenue.

Bomb disposal experts from RAF Wittering have been called in to investigate the package.
