A NEW library project is being set up to help visitors engage in activities.
Chatteris Library is offering people the chance to listen to a range of speakers, make new friends and have exclusive use of the facilities, through the Engage in the Afternoon project.

The monthly sessions run on a Monday afternoon from 2pm and include refreshments and use of the facilities.

Speakers provide information on everything from energy efficiency to local studies talks and workshops, and creative writing advice.

The next session will take place on July 6 and will be called Your Library Online.

n For more information, call 0345 045 5225.

Can't wait to see the cuts in public spending coming as it will put an end to all this wastage. The libraries are having to beg people to come in - it's not as though they are desperately needed. I went into Bretton Library today as they had a book sale on. A handful of eastern european immigrants, all of whom were browsing the internet. Surely they can pay for internet connections at home. Also, the airconditioning was on full blast. What an utter waste of public funds.
