Terrifying armed robbery at petrol station - latest

UPDATE 2.30PM: A WOMAN was threatened with a knife in a frightening armed robbery in Peterborough today.
The robbery happened at 6am at the Shell petrol station, Paxton Road, Orton Goldhay.
The woman was opening the garage when a man threatened her with a knife and stole cash and a quantity of cigarettes.
The woman was not hurt in the incident.
The man is described as white, 5'5", wearing dark clothing and a balaclava.
DC Kevin Poole, investigating, said: "This was very frightening for the member of staff involved. She has been left shaken and upset which is why it's so vital anyone with information gets in touch.
"We would like to hear from anyone who saw this robbery take place or this man in the area of the petrol station this morning."
UPDATE 1.50PM: Police have revelealed a woman working at the filling station was threatened with a knife.
The robber fled with cash and cigarettes.
BREAKING NEWS 9.30AM: POLICE are today investigating a suspected robbery at a filling station in Peterborough.
Officers were alerted at 4.30am to an incident at the Shell garage at Orton Centre.
The premises remain cordoned off with police tape.
