A FIRE which started in a shed spread along a fence and reached a block of flats, leaving residents fearing for their homes.
Firefighters from Dogsthorpe and Stanground were called to the blaze in Manton, Bretton, Peterborough, at about 8.30pm on Monday, where they found flames licking at part of the block, melting the plastic window frames and cracking the windows of three flats.

They extinguished the flames and investigators later found the cause was accidental.
