PUPILS dressed up as flamenco dancers, sampled European food and gave Spanish lingo a whirl as part of a multi-cultural week.
Youngsters at William De Yaxley Junior School, in Landsdowne Road, Yaxley, near Peterborough got into the spirit of the event – which aimed to shed light on different cultures.

Each of the eight classes adopted a country, including Spain, Greece and Portugal to study, and sampled its customs, delicacies and language.

And during the finale, they shared all the information with the rest of the school during a lively and colourful assembly.

School secretary Janet Rossin said: “This was the first event like this we have done, and the children really enjoyed it and there was a lovely buzz around the school.”
