A PENSIONER was assaulted by a lorry driver in a road rage incident.
The 71-year-old man was driving a Nissan Qashqai, which was towing a white Senator caravan, with a 69-year-old passenger also in the vehicle when the incident happened at about 1.25pm, on Tuesday, September 30.

The man was driving on the roundabout joining the A141 and the B1040, in Warboys, near Ramsey, when an articulated lorry cab pulled up behind the Nissan.

The lorry driver got out of his cab and opened the driver's side door of the Nissan.

He then pulled off the wing mirror and threw it into the car, hitting the female passenger.

He then assaulted the driver before getting back into his vehicle and driving off. The victims suffered minor injuries.

The lorry driver is described as white, average height, between 41 and 60, with sandy-coloured hair. He was wearing rimless sunglasses, dark trousers and a mustard short-sleeved jacket.

Anyone with information should call police on 0845 456 4564.

We all get p****d off stuck behind a caravan but there is no excuse for physical violence. This driver should be ashamed of himself.

I get p****d off at old people dawdling and caravan drivers...but they are just as entitled to be on the road as any of us.

The lorry driver's behaviour was despicable...I hope he's found and punished....the fat git.

Lorry drivers and lorries are worse than caravaners anyday. I hope he loses his licence and his job. Just how often do you get 'stuck' behind a caravan doing less than the permitted max speed limit? I wager that it's not that often, especially round here. Now, think of the times you've been tailgated by a lorry, held up by a lorry gassed by exhaust fumes, felt intimidated by....etc. Oh and of course you've been a bit held up by a caravan that prevented you from breaking the law!!!! Tut tut

Yes, I admit I do break the law, I do speed at times on the parkway and I do get cross at caravans and the elderly....but I would never ever in a million years intimidate or tailgate or honk my horn at one! They've got every right to be on the roads and I have always seen caravanners as responsible and courteous drivers.

However lorries....they pull out on you at roundabouts....tailgate....attempt to overtake each other but just end up driving side-by-side for miles....

I really do hope this guy is found and punished...he is disgusting.

Whirlwind, your comment smarts of someone with a complete ignorance of the law with respect to HGV's. They are limited to 40 mph in a national speed limit single carraigeway road.
