GLAMOUR model Nicola McLean proved her early doubters wrong by winning the second Bushtucker Trial of this year's I'm A Celebrity . . . Get Me Out Of Here! last night.
The 25-year-old Page 3 model, who is engaged to Peterborough United footballer Tom Williams, proved her fiancé right after beating Joe Swash in the trial, which was screened last night.
On Saturday, Tom told The ET how Nicola's camp rivals would be in for a big surprise if they were expecting his future wife to be a dumb blonde.
And she proved her show credentials by beating EastEnders actor Joe in the I Scream Van challenge, in which the two celebrities had to eat a variety of gruesome Bush Tucker.
But before the trial began, nervous Nicola was worried that because the public had chosen her to take part then she was "the least liked". But when they got down to it, Nicola put everything behind her and took the trial in her stride.
All the latest reports and gossip including Nick Reinis's 'In the jungle with Nicola' as Nicola McLean competes in I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! The trial took the form of a five-round challenge, where Nicola and Joe took turns to eat different meals of creepy crawlies presented to them which they could either devour, or pass on to the other contestant.
Nicola took the challenge head on, eating everything in her sight – including three crocodile eyes – to take a four-three lead going into the final round of dishes.
Despite being faced with a 'blind course', Nicola plucked up the courage to eat a kangaroo testicle and win the trial for her team, which meant they got their first real meal of the show.
Her team had been subjected to a diet of rice and beans since losing two early tests.
Immensely proud fiancé Tom (28), who watched the show with their two-year-old son, Rocky, couldn't be happier, and he was glad to see Nicola proving that she can hold her own in the jungle.
Today, he said: "She's getting a little bit of stick from the usual places, but she's a feisty girl.
"If I was allowed to talk to her I would say she's doing great, that everything's fine at home and to carry on with what she's doing."
Tom also said that the rest of the players at Posh had been very supportive and urged the people of the city to get behind her.
He added: "The guys at the club have been great and a lot of them are avid supporters of the show and it makes it even more interesting for them having someone they know on it.
"And Nicola's a big supporter of the city and the club – so keep supporting her."
