CITY arts fans have been given a spectacular double treat this week as the Peterborough Festival comes to an end.
After a fantastic parade opened this year’s “summer fantasy” themed festival last weekend, events and activities have been taking place all week.

One of the highlights has been the Mask Theatre’s performance of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, in Central Park.

Hundreds of residents have flocked to see the productions, which have been running since Tuesday evening, with the final performance tonight at 7.30pm.

And throughout the week there have been a number of music concerts held in St John’s Church in Cathedral Square, as part of the Lunchtime Music programme, including performances from the Hereward Ensemble on Tuesday and acclaimed pianist Richard Allum on Thursday.

The festival finishes today with a number of other activities around the city.
