A MAN with no driving licence was stopped by police as he drove along a busy road in Peterborough.
James Jackson (34) was caught driving a Nissan Almera along the westbound carriageway of the A1139 on December 31, last year.

Jackson, of Kesteven Walk, Eastgate, Peterborough, was only on a provisional licence at the time of the incident, and pleaded guilty to driving without a licence and no insurance at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

He told the court: “I was taking the car to the scrapyard for disposal. Unfortunately, I wasn’t aware at the time they did come and collect.”

District Judge Ken Sheraton banned him for two months, fined him £200 and ordered him to pay £35 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
