NEARLY 100 people pulled on their trainers and raced around the city's Ferry Meadows to raise money for a city-based charity.

It was the second time the 5km Chilly Willy event was staged on behalf of Action4menshealth, set up by consultant urologists Janine Nethercliffe and Chris Dawson, who work at Bretton's Edith Cavell Hospital, and their respective spouses, Jonathan Sheehan and Claire Dawson.

Mr Sheehan (43) said: "We had people of all ages take part. The youngest was 14, but we had people in their mid-60s run, too. Luckily the weather held out. "

It is estimated that the run made between £600 and £700 for the charity, which aims to raise awareness of men's health issues.
