Man rescued from house blaze
BREAKING NEWS 9AM: A MAN was rushed to hospital after he was rescued by firefighters when a fire broke out in his home.
Fire crews from Spalding and Holbeach attended the blaze in London Road, Spalding, that started when curtains caught fire from a candle flame at about 11.40pm last night.
Firefighters on the scene gave survival guidance and used breathing apparatus to rescue the occupant from the fire.
The curtains, a television and a surround sound system sustained severe fire damage, while three rooms on the first floor and four ground floor rooms suffered moderate smoke damage.
The man was taken to hospital where he was treated for smoke inhalation, but was later released.
Police are not treating the fire as suspicious.
