A LANDLORD who allowed a couple with a child to live in a flat big enough for just one person has been fined.
At Peterborough Magistrates' Court yesterday, Aurangzeb Khan, of Parliament Street, Peterborough, was fined £1,600 and ordered to pay £306.49 costs and a £15 victim impact surcharge.
Khan admitted breaking an 'emergency prohibition order' imposed in September 2006 which restricted the flat to just one occupier.
The property was a ground-floor flat behind a hairdressing salon in Searjeant Street, Millfield, Peterborough, consisting of kitchen, small living room, single bedroom containing shower cubicle and toilet off the kitchen for which Khan was charging £80 per week rent.
The flat is one of four in the building.
