Keep your tools locked away
AS the weather improves and the evenings become lighter, activity in gardens and allotments is increasing.
Members of Stamford Neighbourhood Policing Team are taking the opportunity to remind allotment holders of the importance of security in relation to their garden tools and equipment.
There has been a recent spate of thefts of gardening implements in the town, and by taking a few precautions and being extra vigilant and security conscious, people can lessen their chances of their possessions becoming the target of thieves.
Police community support officer (PCSO) Marlowe Bramich will be running two sessions at local allotments as part of an Allotment Watch project – working with the town council.
These will be held on Sunday, between 10am and 2pm at the Waterfurlong Allotments, and Sunday, May 25 between 10am and noon at the Uffington Allotments.
PCSO Bramich said: “I would encourage people who have allotments at these places to come along and get their property identity marked and talk to us about security issues.”
