THIEVES have stolen lead flashing worth hundreds of pounds in a spate of raids in Peterborough over two days.
Police say there have been three separate incidents of lead flashing being stolen from properties in Elter Walk, Coniston Road, Borrowdale Close and Rydale Court, in the Gunthorpe area of the city.

Community safety officer Carol Aston said the rising value of metal means thieves will stop at nothing to target and steal these items.

"There were a number of thefts recently in Glinton of lead from around windows. Although these are only small pieces of flashing from roofs and chimneys, if residents don't notice the thefts it could lead to damp and water damage."

For further advice and help, call Carol Aston by ringing 01733 424417 or contact her via e-mail at carol.aston@cambs.pnn.police.uk
