Ex-mayor to go on trial for vote rigging

A former mayor of Peterborough accused of vote rigging is set to go on trial today.
Raja Akhtar (51), of Newark Avenue, Peterborough, is to appear before a judge and jury at King's Lynn with Abdul Razaq (47), of Alexandra Road, Millfield, and Mohammed Khaliq (49), of Foxdale, New England.

All three men are charged with forgery.

All three deny all the charges against them.
