Drugs raids: Three arrested
A 17-YEAR-OLD boy was among three people arrested during drugs raids in Peterborough this morning.
The first raid was carried out at an address in Medworth, Orton Goldhay, and police say a quantity of heroin and cannabis was found.
A 17 year old boy was arrested on suspicion of possession of class A drugs with intent to supply and is currently being held at Thorpe Wood Police Station.
The second raid was carried out at an address in Arundel Road, Walton, and a number of cannabis plants were found.
A 26 year old man and a 28 year old woman were arrested on suspicion of production of cannabis and are being held at Thorpe Wood Police Station.
The raids come as the first National Tackling Drugs week continues across the county.
Detective Chief Inspector Gary Goose, the force's drugs lead, said: "These raids are part of our ongoing commitment to tackle drug supply in the city.
"This work will continue as we fight to reduce the problem of drugs and the impact it has on crime and the wider community.
"However this is not just about enforcement and an important part of this work is the multi-agency approach we take."
