THE city council's magazine, Your Peterborough, has been shortlisted for a national award.
The Chartered Institute of Public Relations shortlisted the magazine in the publications category of the Local Government Excellence in Communications Awards 2008.

Peterborough City Council’s cabinet member for customer focus and communications co
uncillor Matthew Dalton said: “This national recognition demonstrates the excellent work being carried out by the authority to communicate with its residents.

“Your Peterborough provides people with up-to-date relevant information about the city and how the council is meeting its priorities. It also gives readers the opportunity to feed back their views and get involved.”

Your Peterborough was recently relaunched in magazine format following consultation with residents.

The city council’s head of communications, Caroline Parsons, said: “This is a great achievement for the team, and we have worked really hard to get to this position. We received excellent feedback from our residents, which confirms our decision to revamp Your Peterborough was the right approach to take.”

The winners will be announced at the CIPR Local Government Awards in Bath on October 17.
