The device was recovered from the ATM at Sainsburys in Exeter Road, Bourne, by a security guard on yesterday (August 7).

A lincolnshire police spokesman said customers' bank accounts are not at risk, but police are still appealing for information on the offenders who set up the device.

Officers are appealing for anyone who used the machine, or who was in the area and saw someone suspicious between 7pm on Wednesday August 6 and 10.15am on Thursday August 7, to get in touch.

Anyone with any information can call Stamford Police Station on: (01780) 752222, quoting incident number 118 of August 7.

The only advice I would give is never use a ATM machine other than those inside your branch where there is cctv. Of course this is not always possible or failing that get cash back from a Supermarket. That is what I do!

What I don't understand is why CCTV on the Cashpoint and at the Supermarket does not get the images of the people planting the device. Then name and shame them and put them away.

Wonder how long it takes to set up a cloning device because if takes some time how is it that no one in the shop saw it taking place unless it was an inside job.
