BREAKING NEWS 2.45PM: EMERGENCY services have been called to the scene of a crash on Lincoln Road in Walton, Peterborough, this afternoon.
It is thought one car was involved in the accident, and crashed through the central reservation near to Mountsteven Avenue just after 1.50pm.

Police, ambulance and fire and rescue crews were all called to the scene, and motorists faced long delays as traffic was backed up along Lincoln Road while the recovery operation took place.

The Highways Agency have also been called to the scene to deal with the damaged barrier.

Telling You The Facts,

Walton 16/05/2008 15:51:17
To all the above - It is my photo that is shown above. The car is a BMW and although 'modded', was not overly done so - the driver was also not a kid and the car was on trade plates. The alleged cause was the driver accelerating to fast away from the lights or trying to speed up to avoid the red light - it is not clear which case applies. What is more concerning, is the fact that this stretch of road is designated a 'Safe Route' for the school children - something the council ram down our throats - but in reality, this road cannot be deemed a safe route due to lack of enforcement by police and council to stop and catch the speeders and the illegal users of the road - the over 7.5 tonne lorries which should not use it - this, and other accidents prove this is the case and which the council deny ever happen. I wonder why?

No problem Bucks - I just tell it like it is - no prejudice - my only regret is the fact that the council hide behind their office doors and won't address the problems along this bit of road - something they have been aware of for several years and have done nothing about it - regretably, I am jsur waiting for the first schoolkid to get mangled along this stretch of road. I won't be first in line to say. 'Told you so' -
