Biker seriously injured in hit and run crash

UPDATE 3.10PM: The motorcyclist - who is 17 - has been transferred to Addenbrooke's Hospital, in Cambridge with what police describe as serious injuries.
Police have also issued an appeal to try to trace the van involved in the collision.

The van is described as a pale yellow or creamy white Ford Transit, registration S32 URT.

Breaking News - 12.30pm
A MOTORCYCLIST has been rushed to hospital after being involved in a suspected hit and run collision.

Emergency services rushed to Lawson Avenue, in Stanground, Peterborough, following the crash at 8.20am today.

It is believed the motorcyclist was in collision with a passing van, and the vehicle failed to stop at the scene.

The road was closed off and investigations are ongoing at the scene.

Cambridgeshire Police say a 20-year-old man has since been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop at the scene of an accident and driving while disqualified. He remains at Thorpe Wood police station for questioning.
