JUDGES at a charity art competition have been overwhelmed by the quality of the entries.
The Spring Exhibition at local gallery Northborough Framing, in Market Deeping, has been taking place over the last month, and there were plenty of entries in a variety of styles which took up virtually all of the available wall space at the gallery.

The competition was eventually won by Joyce Sergeant, from Deeping Gate, near Market Deeping, for her watercolour study of a magnolia bush coming into flower.

Her prize is a selection of art materials from Northborough Framing.

Gallery owner Delia Newman said: “This is our first exhibition since opening here last summer, and we have been very pleased with the standard of entries and with the enthusiasm of local artists. It was a close competition with four or five front runners, but Joyce just came out ahead.

“We are pleased to have raised money for Sense, the deafblind charity, through proceeds of art sold and the raffle of a limited edition print donated by us”.
