CURRENT FORM: I've been a Posh fan for almost as long as I can remember, starting out standing in the same spot on the glebe terrace come rain or shine.
I've got a season ticket for the lower tier of the family stand, so I'll hopefully see pretty much every home game and also travel to a good chunk of away games this season.
I first played for the Peterborough United Supporters FC (PUSFC) side way
back in 2001, and eventually found myself managing the team at the beginning of the 2006-07 season. We play in the Internet Football Association (IFA) National League, which is made up of more than 90 other fans' teams from the Premier League all the way down to the Blue Square Premier.
Pre-match: I left home at 9am as the PUSFC team had an IFA League game against the Cambridge United fans in the morning.
Cambridge took an early 1-0 lead, but thankfully we soon hit our stride and came back to make the final score 3-1 to Posh.
There is some debate about our third goal; Craig Buckley thinks it should be credited to him, but it must have hit about four other players before crossing the line, so one for the dubious goals panel to take a look at I guess.
By my reckoning, that was the first three points of the season for Posh, and the first defeat for Cambridge. With local pride duly defended, I headed off for a few pre-match drinks at Ebeneezers.
Half-time report: Posh certainly started brightly with a good pace to their play, but we struggled to really create anything clear-cut.
Half chances came and went, with Craig Mackail-Smith looking particularly bright, but the Orient keeper wasn't really forced into anything too strenuous despite us working ourselves into a few promising positions.
Just as it looked like we were going to see a goalless first half, an unfortunate Orient stumble saw Mackail-Smith race clear and curl the ball superbly into the back of the net. Suddenly there was a real expectancy in the crowd for the next 45 minutes.
Full-time report: An excellent second-half performance, a cracker from Aaron and another from Mackail-Smith, making the final score 3-0. Leyton Orient could really have no complaints as George Boyd, Dean Keates, and the tireless Mackail-Smith stood out for Posh - Thornton being the only player to catch the eye for Orient (that could just have been the hair though).
Posh man of the match: The sponsors gave Man of the Match to the deserving Craig Mackail-Smith, and I don't think anybody in the ground could disagree with them for once. I certainly wouldn't, and if he can keep that level of performance up for the rest of the season it's going to be a very good one for him indeed.
Post-match: Pretty much perfect. Two Posh games, two Posh wins. Cambridge reminded of exactly where they now stand in the local footballing ladder, and precisely the main game performance we needed following the disappointing opening day defeat at Southend.
