My Mum had always been a big Posh fan and when my family moved back to the area she encouraged all of us to go with her to London Road.
My favourite player at the time was Scott Houghton because he was exciting to watch and had a very cute bottom! These days I still look for much the same thing in a player!
Unfortunately, due to work commitments I don't get to many games these days as I'm a nurse and have to work quite a lot of weekends but mum keeps me well informed of developments and always records the TV footage so I can watch it later.
My Mum actually banned me from coming to games for a while as she said we always lost when I came but with the current talented squad I don't think my presence will make any difference.
Pre-Match: We always park at my grandad's house on match days as he lives on London Road and it's not too far to walk.
I go to the game with my mum Kezza, my two sisters Jessie and Chloe (who most people seem to know!), my grandad Wally, uncle Gary and cousin Ellie. We like to pop into the Posh Venue for a pint before the game so leave at about 2pm to give us time.
The talk on the way to the ground was about Joe Lewis and his injured ankle. We were all in agreement that without Joe, whose form has been good lately, we would be vulnerable at the back.
Jimmy McKeown is quite a character but not in the same class as Joe so we were very hopeful that he would be playing. We also chatted about Gaby Zakuani and what a brilliant signing he would be so Fergie get his autograph ASAP!
Half-Time: It was absolutely freezing and the atmosphere didn't do much to warm me up.
Colchester were not as bad as I expected and put us under some pressure so it was a relief when CMS squeezed the ball in just before half-time. I thought the referee was rubbish and felt he should have protected our players more by handing out yellow cards earlier than he did. All in all though a reasonable first half.
Best song: The crowd didn't really get going until Posh were denied what I thought was a clear penalty on the hour.
After that big lump Platt equalised our supporters really found their voice and I have to say that the 'Boydie wonderland' song was my favourite. I must admit I had expected Tommy Williams to get some stick about his missus eating something unspeakable in the jungle but they obviously haven't been watching the same TV programmes as me in Colchester.
Full-Time: A brilliant result and three points well earned after a hard fought game.
Shaun Batt made a real difference when he came on and if he found his scoring boots the result could have been more convincing.
I thought Zakuani had an excellent game clearing up anything that came his way. I also thought Williams had a good first half and he looked dangerous going forward. Can't wait until the cup game next Saturday.
