I've been a regular since then apart from 1969 to 1971 when I was doing my apprenticeship in the RAF. I've been a season ticket holder since 1972/73 season and have only missed two home league games since September 1973 and have been to every game ho
me and away since 1996/97.
I'm the club's official statistician and regularly provide Swanny with information.
During my time watching there have been numerous memorable games and it would be hard to pick a favourite.
I was co-author of The History of Posh book printed in 1992, being responsible for the stats. I have amassed a large amount of Posh memorabilia and have the largest known Posh programme collection numbering close to 6,000.
I still need six home games to complete my collection back to the war so if any one can help please get in touch. I have started taking my grand-daughter and hope she can catch the Posh bug.
PRE-MATCH: Forever Posh are running cheap coach travel for members on selected games. This was one of them and cost me £5. It was £14 for non-members so it's well worth joining Forever Posh.
We arrived at the ground at 1pm and I hung around outside chatting to friends. In the competition we have before the match I predicted a 1-1 draw which I would have taken.
Half-time report: We were 2-0 up and it should have been more.
The midfield and forwards were linking up extremely well, while Walsall were showing us nothing to suggest why they were above us in the league table.
I stayed in my seat at half-time and discussed with fellow supporters why we hadn't scored more goals.
I had made the mistake of leaning over the wall to retrieve a ball just before the break and injured my leg!
Atmosphere: I was disappointed with both teams' support. I guess we had about 300 fans there and all I hear is the usual 'you're supposed to be at home' and 'shall we sing a song for you' from the boy band.
Their supporters just moaned and groaned all the time.
Full-time report: Posh coasted through the second half and yet still hit the woodwork twice. Posh could easily have enjoyed a rout on another day.
Walsall's consolation goal came from a corner conceded by Joe Lewis from the only on-target shot he had to deal with.
