My Posh Day: Lee Sardeson from Orton Goldhay
Published Date:

CURRENT FORM: I've been a Posh fan all my life.
The first match I remember attending was Posh v Fulham in the League Cup in August 1980. We won 3-2.
I am a season ticket holder and expect to get to all games this season.
Pre-match: I set off at 10.45am and travelled by car with Letty, Wade and Paddy Kurt. I got to the ground at 3.05pm (whooops)
We'd been to the Forrester Arms and saw some strippers . . . great start!
We were all very optimistic ahead of the match and the new season.
Half-time report: Posh started the game very well with Boyd running the show.
The defence looked solid and Martin seemed to slot in with his team-mates well. Keates had a good chance from a free-kick just outside the area.
McLean and Mackail-Smith also started the game well, running their socks off as usual.
The 0-0 scoreline was justified but Posh were the better team.
Morgan, Boyd and Westwood stood out in the first half, nobody really played poorly.
At half-time I had my picture taken for this column and had a chat with a few fellow fans.
Atmosphere: The atmosphere was excellent in the Posh end but I didn't hear any new songs or chants.
Full-time report: The scoreline was not justified. Posh deserved at least a draw.
Keates had another couple of free-kicks with which he could possibly have done better and McLean had a great effort which the keeper did well to keep out. Charlie Lee also had a free header from a corner which he should have at least put on target.
The away support was fantastic, let's hope it stays that way for the whole season.
Posh man of the match: Craig Morgan was my man-of-the-match. He was solid from start to finish.
Post-match: Prediction for rest of the season? I think we should finish in the top 10 at least. Sixth is my prediction.
All in all a great day out apart from losing and the weather.
