OUR thanks to Langford B Smith for sending in this photograph of class Lower 1 at King's School in 1938/39.
He was able to supply names of some of the pupils, but we are still keen to find out the others.

Here is what he could give us: In the back row, from left are (surnames only) Francis, Harkness, Eames, unknown, Chamberlain, Beard, Godfrey, unknown, Starey, Smith (BL), unknown.

In the middle row, the first two are unknowns, then third from the left we have Nicholls, unknown, Crawley, two unknowns, Crisp and then two unknowns.

In the front row is Slatterspulski, unknown, Seaton, Smith (LB), head master Mr Mitchell, form mistress Miss Beaumont, Eames and two unknowns.
Langford can remember some miscellany about some of the boys' backgrounds. Harkness was a doctor's son, the Crawley family were leather merchants and Seaton was the brains of the year.

If you are able to fill in any gaps, please contact Hannah Gray on the details above.
