POSH: Striker Trevor Anderseon received a call-up from Northern Ireland ahead of the forthcoming Home International series. He was set to become the third Posh player selected for his country after Ollie Conmy (Republic of Ireland) and Tony Millington (Wales).
SPEEDWAY: Local boy Peter Spink admitted he was considering his Panthers future in the wake of a 56-22 drubbing of Workington. He thought the signing of Dave Gooderham would squeeze him out of the city side's plans.

DOMINOES: Newborough man Albert Crisp won the Manns Monday League singles crown. He beat Steve Fleming of league champions Windmill in the final.
FOOTBALL: Posh legend Norman Rigby's Stamford side won the United Counties League championship for the second time in three seasons.

FOOTBALL: The Peterborough Junior Alliance Under 12 rep side won the regional EASY Cup crown with a 3-1 win over the Cambs Colts League. Gavin Dolby (Yaxley), Ben Conmy (Rangers) and Alec Curtis (Bretton Albion) scored the goals.
TABLE TENNIS: Martin Gladders romped to a fourth successive Peterborough men's singles crown. The Smith Motors man beat Hotpoint rival Paul Spittlehouse in the final after accounting for Julian Tee at the semi-final stage.
SPEEDWAY: Chemical supplies man David Hawkins joined forces with Martin Rogers in Panthers' new-look promotion.
RUGBY: Danny Kitching led the way with a hat-trick of tries as Borough gave their long-suffering fans something to cheer at the end of an instantly forgettable season. The city men thumped Old Northamptonians 49-7 to register their biggest win of the season.
ICE HOCKEY: Pirates fans received a massive end-of-season boost when star turn Todd Bidner pledged to return to the club. The Canadian forward had just scored 164 points in the previous campaign.
