Hannah Gray
We have received more recollections of Peterborough on the big screen.
John Jarvis from Newborough rang in to tell us about his experiences.

He has worked as an extra in the films War and Remembrance, which starred Robert Mitchum and Jane Seymour, plus the Dirty Dozen 2, Octopussy and Pride and Prejudice with Keira Knightley.

For Pride and Prejudice, John, a contractor, was busy at work when he was approached by someone from the film company.

"I was working on the road at Barnack and someone said 'would you like to be an extra in a film'?" he recalled.

John was initially going to play a soldier but he ended up as a market trader with chickens on his shoulder.

At the time, John told The ET: "It was really strange going from working on the road to walking around a huge set dressed as a Victorian market trader."

His scenes appeared in the final version of the film and he was invited to a special screening of it.
