The pictures of The Dinky Sweet Shop were sent in by a reader.
The shop was in Bridge Street, Peterborough, and we think these photographs come from around the mid-1930s.
There is a sign in the window promising that nothing was over six pence, and there was also a penny counter.
The shop was owned by Frank and Ellen Nickless, who also owned Bishops Road Tea Shop, and ran a kiosk in Central Park and at the swimming pool, which is now known as the Lido.
At the Lido, the kiosk was very popular, particularly with youngsters.
They would come to the door and ask for a scrap of bread and soon the owners decided to sell a penny crust with a bit of top ping, for example jam. The penny crust was a big hit with children at the pool.
If you can remember this kiosk, or the sweet shop in Bridge Street or the cafe in Bishop's Road, we would love to hear from you.
