IT'S a busy week at Peterborough's Met Lounge, with three big shows catering for indie to punk fans.
First up tonight (Friday) is a visit from Scottish indie-pop act Kid Canaveral, who will appeal to fans of the Magic Numbers

Since 2006, Kid Canaveral have been very active on the live circuit, headlining a barrage of live shows, as well as providing support for acts such as Joyzipper, KT Tunstall, King Creosote, Camera Obscura and Glasvegas.

Over the past few years they have been busy writing and perfecting their noble craft, and in true indie spirit they have self-released 7 inch singles of their own.

Support for tonight's show comes from Zhen Merit and Joe Actually.

Tickets cost £6 at the door, from 8.30pm.

Then, on Sunday, Peterborough gets a taste of the burgeoning US alt-punk scene when Fake Problems play the venue.

They were named band of the day on spin.com, who stated: "They straddle the line between alt-country and unpolished pop rock, the quartet comes across as the lo-fi love brats of Ryan Adams and Rilo Kiley."

If you are a fan of hot new US act The Gaslight Anthem, then this is the show for you.

Support comes from All Or Nothing, We Are Fiction, He Who Dares and Late 90s. Tickets cost £5 at the door, from 7pm.

Then it's the big one on Thursday, to mark the start of The Met Lounge's ninth anniversary weekend.

Army Of Freshmen return to Peterborough. The six-piece Californian-based punk band have played The Met Lounge several times before, and have built up a passionate fanbase.

One of the hardest working independent bands in the world, Army Of Freshmen have played more than 1,000 shows in 10 countries and 43 states, released four full-length records and in the process have built a devoted international following.

Tour support comes from Koopa, and there are two other acts on the bill, A Story To Tell and Liam Maddison.

Tickets cost £7 advance from 01733 571616. Doors are at 7.45pm.
